黒地に六つの瓢箪（ひょうたん）が描かれた、有田・波佐見焼の飯碗です。六つの瓢（むびょう）と「無病」をかけて、健康で病気をせずに過ごせるよう願う縁起の良いデザインとして親しまれています。内側には明るい黄色の彩色が施され、外側の黒とのコントラストが美しく、華やかさと落ち着きを兼ね備えています。軽くて丈夫な磁器製で、ご飯茶碗としてはもちろん、小鉢やデザートボウルとしてもお使いいただけます。

This Arita/Hasami ware rice bowl features six gourd motifs on a black background. The design, called *mubyo* (six gourds), is a play on words meaning “good health without illness,” symbolizing a wish for well-being.
